The Union of Technicians' Associations of
Mediterranean Culture groups together through their national
associations, the engineers and technicians of the industries of
paints, varnishes, printing inks and adhesives.
Created in 1993 by the Spanish, Italian
and French Associations, the Union welcomed afterwards the
Algerian, Portuguese and Romanian associations.
Steered by a Board consisted of representatives of the member
associations, the UATCM aims at promoting in the public interest:
- Exchanges of technology in the fields of paints, varnishes, printing
inks, glues and adhesives and their additional sectors: raw materials
and equipments, in respect for the existing legislation notably the
industrial property,
- Exchanges of ideas between technicians of the professions grouped
together in the national associations,
- Improvement of products, limitation of wasting and to encourage the
manufacturing process minimizing the pollution of the environment for
the benefit of the Industry and the Public.
- Rapid diffusion of scientific and industrial progres by the
organization of congresses, seminars and conferences.
It has been pointed out through various actions notably:
- Organization of meetings and conferences with scientific, technical
or economic topics
- Awarding of prizes and rewards to help or crown the works presented
during these events
- Publication of technical, scientific or economic articles related to
the activities in the national associations' reviews
- Joint organization of training sessions for the technicians of the
Union
- Organization of presentations or technical demonstrations of
industrial or laboratory equipments and of equipment for raw materials
management related to our professions.
